What's Working, What's Not and Some Strong Opinions on How to Get the Industry Headed in the Right Direction.
The bowling industry has no shortage of passionate people. What it often lacks is honest conversation, fresh thinking, and the willingness to speak out and challenge ideas that are no longer producing results. ReThink Bowling was created to fill that gap.
Our mission is simple: inspire bowling proprietors, bowlers and industry leaders, to think differently about the future of bowling. Through thoughtful articles, business analysis, industry commentary, case studies, and practical strategies, we explore ideas that help bowling centers become stronger businesses while creating better experiences for their customers and communities.
We believe the future of bowling will not be shaped by sitting back and waiting for our industry leaders to fix what's broken, not will it be shaped by protecting yesterday's ideas. Instead the path forward includes embracing innovation, encouraging healthy debate, and a willingness to question long-held assumptions. Progress rarely comes from everyone agreeing—it comes from asking better questions and having the courage to explore better answers.
Many of the topics discussed here may be controversial. That's intentional. ReThink Bowling exists to encourage respectful dialogue, challenge conventional wisdom, and examine the issues that influence the health of our industry. Every opinion shared is rooted in a genuine desire to see bowling thrive for generations to come.
ReThink Bowling was founded by Chuck Lande, an award-winning bowling proprietor, entrepreneur, industry consultant, and lifelong student of the business of bowling. Drawing on decades of experience operating bowling centers, building companies, consulting with business owners, and working throughout the industry, Chuck brings a practical, real-world perspective focused on solutions rather than politics. He takes pride in that he is now able to "speak freely" about the issues in the bowling industry without fear of consequences from industry employers.
Whether you agree with every article or not isn't the point. If something you read causes you to reconsider an your beliefs, sparks a conversation with your team, or inspires a new idea that improves your business, then ReThink Bowling has accomplished its mission.
The future of bowling belongs to those who are willing to rethink it.
